This subseries contains mainly agenda books which may contain a meeting agenda; minutes of the previous meeting; a "mini-list" of grant applications; summaries of individual grant applications arranged by program area; a chart of approved grants; year-to-date granting totals; a list of grants turned down by staff with reasons; and program evaluations. Other records include a few meeting agendas; press packets which contain photocopies of articles pertaining to The Pew Charitable Trusts, its activities and grantees; and fragmentary documentation of strategic planning. Selected records of advisory committees to the board pertain to health and human services, including long-term care issues; and special projects, especially those considered by the "Dream Team" group of consultants convened to help PCT determine a "select number of well-defined special projects" funded by a portion of the projected $40-50 million increase in PCT's investment portfolio on 1991.

The Pew Charitable Trusts consists of seven individual trusts established by the children of Sun Oil Company founder Joseph Newton Pew (1886-1963) and his wife Mary Anderson Pew. It's predecessor, the Pew Memorial Foundation was founded by J . Howard Pew (1882-1971), Mary Ethel Pew (1884-1979), J. N.
